June 1, 2021 Tuesday
Steve took a hard turn starting in the middle of the night. They have been struggling to get his heart rate below 150. They did dialysis today and had a cardiologist consult. There isn't a lot they are able to do because of his kidneys and the evidence of stroke. The only thing we can do is pray and hang on to hope. I was looking for a verse on hope and this one hit me:
Psalm 62:5-6
5Let all that I am wait quietly before God, for my hope is in him. 6He alone is my rock and my salvation, my fortress where I will not be shaken.
This could be a part of the roller coaster ride, this may be his calling to his eternal home in Heaven. We don't know these things, but for right now, I am praying for a miracle for my sweet husband.
There were a few angels today who opened some doors for us to have the three of us, plus Kristy(she says she is my emotional support human and note taker/doctor questioner) and Pastor Cory. This was the first time the girls had seen their daddy in almost a month for Kaiti and 5 weeks for Riley. We were so fortunate and blessed that while we were speaking to him through the door, they had the isolation protocols lifted, allowing the girls and I to enter the room and hold his hands for the first time in a month. We prayed over him, talked to him and just spent time with him all together.
Thank you for faithfully walking this journey with us, I pray the next update will bring news of an upswing, and in the wait I continue to praise God for who He is and how He has blessed us so abundantly.
