June 18, 2021 Friday Evening

PRAISE! Riley and Adam celebrated their one month wedding anniversary! Wow, what a month of taking their vows very seriously! They went on a date for lunch, then Adam came home and went to bed. So hard to work through brain trauma. She sent me pictures of their date, so sweet. What a blessing they are to me. ❤️ Prayer requests are for appointments, followups and outpatient rehab. They are in the middle of health insurance/motorcycle insurance tie up that is holding up rehab scheduling. All so frustrating.

Steve had dialysis today and his BP held strong, Praise God! His heart rate is still very fast, so that is still a concern.  Praises also include: no fever in almost a week, white blood cell count down and in a good range, responds to voices around him, especially known voices, ticklish feet 😄,  AND he did another hour off of the respiration part of the ventilator today! I just think about when you exert yourself one day, the next day you are sore and tired, and MY MAN did it again! Score! Thankful to Nurse Dillon today and Sobie(?) his nurse this evening. I was able to pray with them both. What a blessing they are to all who love Steve!

I had a beautiful back and forth on text with my ICU friend Judy. Her husband had been transported to FFX and we have been praying for him here on caring bridge. Here is her prayer request: Ray has been in the acute rehab hospital for two days and has already made tremendous progress. He's quickly regaining the use of his limbs and fingers. He can't feel his feet due to lack of circulation from being bedridden in the hospital so please pray that with exercise and mobility the feeling will return. He also needs to gain weight and gain muscle strength in his lower body. His heart function is still weak, but I believe God is strengthening it in the unseen. God is faithful to His Word and promises despite what we see and the discouraging news from doctors. God is healing Ray miraculously and also answering his small specific prayers when he is most discouraged with his condition.  Please continue to pray for my precious friend, for encouragement in both Judy and Ray's spirit, strengthening of Ray's frame, heart and I'm praying boldly for restoration of his kidney function too!

I find it so amazing, that when I put myself out there and reach out to someone I don't know, that God usually ends up blessing me! I think of Judy, whom I met in the ICU waiting room right before her husband was flown to Fairfax. We are like iron sharpening iron. She encourages me, and I her as we walk together through the valley. I think of so many other times when I "thought" I was helping someone else and ended up with a new friend, or that feeling way deep down inside of Joy from The Lord. Sharing stories of hard times, being transparent about areas of sin or struggle, cheering another on who is where you may have been and gotten through. When you feel that tug, don't ignore it. Put your worries on the back burner and trust that The Lord will guide and help you. I can count on one hand the times I have been turned away or turned down or even looked at weirdly when I step out in faith. I also find if I feel like someone needs prayer, I ask, "Can I bless you?"  That is usually met with a big YES,  more than "Can I pray for you", that could be just me, but everyone wants to be blessed, it is The Father's heart to bless!  If you feel that tug, don't let the moment pass. You have a calling on your life, You are needed, You are His hands and feet, You reaching out could make a big difference in another person's life.  1Thessalonians 5:11 says: So encourage each other and build each other up, just as you are already doing.

Thank you to all of the prayer warriors out there, some who let me know and so many more who are diligently, faithfully praying, holding our arms up in the battle that is sometimes wearying and long. So thankful for all of you for your encouragement in many ways. The Lord sees your love for us and I pray that He blesses you abundantly. Love you all.
