June 20, 2021 9pm

June 20, 2021 Sunday Eve

I visited with Steve on this hot Father's Day Sunday. He was so sleepy today, it took till near the end of my visit to see eyes. It is so hard to regulate sleep/wake cycles when on a ventilator, recovering from Covid, recovering from a collapsed lung, getting some brain healing, and on a weekend off of dialysis. So I gave him a break lol. I can tell he really loves his shoulder and neck massage and even though he is ticklish, he really does like foot massages too. His heart rate is still very high. It is pretty steady when it is high and then goes into an atrial flutter when it is around 120 (which is still high, but would be a pretty good number for Steve at this time). There is an electrophysiologist consulting with Dr. Mendi tomorrow, so it will be interesting to hear what their input is regarding lowering his heart rate/atrial flutter issue. Dialysis is tomorrow, so that will also help the sleepiness. Continued prayers for Brain, Kidneys, Lungs, High Heart Rate, and Atrial Flutter to stop.

  • Hebrews 6:19 (AMP)

This hope [this confident assurance] we have as an anchor of the soul [it cannot slip and it cannot break down under whatever pressure bears upon it]—a safe and steadfast hope that enters within the veil [of the heavenly temple, that most Holy Place in which the very presence of God dwells],

  • Hebrews 6:18-20 (NLT)
  • So God has given both his promise and his oath. These two things are unchangeable because it is impossible for God to lie. Therefore, we who have fled to him for refuge can have great confidence as we hold to the hope that lies before us. 19This hope is a strong and trustworthy anchor for our souls. It leads us through the curtain into God’s inner sanctuary. 20Jesus has already gone in there for us. He has become our eternal High Priest in the order of Melchizedek.

I love Hebrews 6:19 Jesus is my anchor, my hope. My hope is not in a test result, or response from Steve. Those are awesome and encouraging. But if those are my anchor, then I will be swept away in the positive and negative reports in this journey. God's word is true yesterday, today and forever. He is unchangeable. He is my refuge, my peace. No matter where the destination may be, If I keep my anchor in HIM, I will get there in peace, rest and enjoy seeing the blessings and works of His hand on the way. Love you all! Please continue to pray for Adam's healing and restoration as well as getting going on outpatient rehab.  Continued prayers for all of the care workers in the ICU. They are amazing and such a blessing.
