Hi all!
Sorry for the delay in updates, but I really have no new news to share. Steve continues to make awesome progress in his blood tests and all the other areas they look at to get a picture and trend. Up Up Up! As far as the MRI, they had to cancel it, so they ordered another CT scan. Dr. Mendi will be calling me likely later tonight to chat and go through it. Victoria is his nurse today.
I wanted to share something that I have been doing that has gotten me through the long dark night. Most nights I go to sleep with scripture from my Bible App, and I usually fall right asleep. Many nights during this long journey (that has only been a little over a week!), I fall asleep, but wake up. In those times, my guard is down and the enemy floods my brain with what ifs, and pictures of the future that are definitely not peace-filled. I found YouTube videos that are 8 hours long of scripture reading. In Isaiah 26:3 ( I liked the Amplified version for this one) It says: “You will keep in perfect and constant peace the one whose mind is steadfast [that is, committed and focused on You—in both inclination and character], Because he trusts and takes refuge in You [with hope and confident expectation]. That is a promise that I can stand on. Sometimes in the long dark night, listening to verses with peace, hope, love, healing, provision. I hear a verse, I come into agreement and I feel His peace come over me. Sometimes it stays, sometimes in the pause I feel like I can't breathe till the next verse comes to wash me over with His peace again. As His precious words infiltrate my spirit, I am able to fall asleep again. Sometimes it is repeated through the night, other times I'm good for the rest of the night. My Jesus is there holding me through it all.
The other thing we do is flood our home with praise music, sometimes soft and soothing, or hymns, or gospel, Sometimes Kaiti is on her keyboard singing and praising. We always feel better after worshiping and praising, getting our eyes off of ourselves and onto the one who knows the depth of our pain. He is the same yesterday, today and forever. Love you all and thank you for all of your prayers, support and encouragement!

- Kris RomerHeather, your posts are so heartfelt and inspiring. Your steadfast faith and focus on the positive is amazing. Words have power, and the words that you share are filled with life and healing (in Jesus'Name!) and hope! We are here to lift you up and pray for Steve and your family, to bring YOU encouragment, and yet your posts are inspiring US! I am currently reading an amazing book by Tim Sheets called Angel Armies on Assignment. In one of your previous posts you mentioned ministering angels and warring angels. It is as if you are speaking right from the book! I am praying in agreement with you! My decree for Steve is from Psalm 118:17- Steve will not die but shall LIVE and declare the works of the Lord!!5/18/21
- Jeannine Santo ZupoPraise Him for giving you peace through his word. He is a good father. Continued prayers for joy despite your circumstances. For seeking him above all things. You continue to be an inspiration. My prayers tonight for healing of Steve’s brain. For his rest. That he is at peace during this time. For the doctors and caregivers - that the Lord directs their every move concerning each of the 12 in those beds- that a Holy Spirit healing will come over the ICU. For you, Heather and the girls, that God will provide all you need while you wait. And of course for Mrs Ruments, Brian, Laura, Carey Ann , Marty, Connor, Kyle - you’ve all been through so much- may god just bless you all and keep you. 💛5/18/21

One of my favorite lines is "If I know you're with me, I won't be afraid " He IS with you, always and forever. He is with Steve too. God says in Jer. 31:3: "I have loved you with an everlasting love." That's for you Heather. Rest in His loving arms.5/17/21
