May 18, 2021 Hospital Visit!
Today we got to visit Steve! I took Kristy with me to help with questions to ask and emotional support. Our nurse Victoria (It was so good to meet her!!!) took me to his room and allowed his door to be open a bit so he could hear me. He had moved his head a bit and his eyes had fluttered earlier in the day, but when I started talking to him he started moving his head more and opened his eyes, especially when I stopped talking. I felt like he was irritated that I stopped talking. lol He was trying so hard to be responsive to my voice and I was able to call his brother Brian who talked to him. When Steve heard Brian, he turned his head toward the sound and opened his eyes for him too!!! I was able to talk to him, pray over him, I sang him the song Rise Up by Cain and then prayed over him more as well as praying over each person in the ICU. I thought he was going to rest again, but the second I sat down and was quiet, he stirred up again and opened his eyes like he was searching for me! I was also able to get Riley on the phone, she chatted with her dad and he responded to her voice too! We then got kicked out because the ICU rooms are negative pressure and I was letting it all out lol😉. So we went to the waiting room to wait for Dr. Lee.
In the mean time, I talked to Dr. Fasanya who is the surgeon. He is very pleased with Steve's stability and they are looking at doing a trach and tube to make it easier for him to move and speed up his recovery. They are trying to fit him in for these procedures, could be tomorrow, could be Monday. It is all in God's hands, timing and will.
Dr. Lee finished her rounds, she is AMAZING! I adore her! She said they are treating the spots in the brain as stroke and we will know more when he is fully awake. I asked about covid testing him again because his first symptoms were April 29th. She said that it would be positive and could be positive for months because there is no test right now that can tell the difference between active and inactive covid. So they are figuring out visiting and possible in the room time and what that would look like and they will get back to me.
We are over the moon and Praising God, so thankful for all your faithful prayers for Steve, for us and for the doctors, caregivers and patients on the floor. I had the chance to pray over Victoria and Dr. Lee while in the consult room. We are so blessed by all of them! I will likely update you tomorrow, I'll find out later if I am able to get in again tomorrow! Love to you all!!

What a joy for you to meet the medical staff in person and pray over them- putting a face with a name is comforting. You are such a beautiful example of faith in action, your trust in the Father is exactly how he wants each of us to respond in all situations. When we are in sync with the Father he brings us peace that surpasses all understanding- that despite our circumstances we can find that contentment in him. I’m praying for more visits, more answers, more healing in God’s timing, especially for his brain. God bless you all. Thank you for taking us on the journey with you.
