May 29, 2021 Saturday AM

Just talked to nurse Alicia, she said last night went well, no acute events!  The surgeon had ordered high saturation of oxygen because right after the procedure, his oxygen saturation was a little low. Turns out, he didn't need it, so they are lowering it a bit at a time today and watching, Praise God! They checked his kidneys and at first test, they are still in shock and not producing urine by themselves. They will continue to test and do dialysis as needed until they wake up again.  Alishia said that what they have noticed in covid patients is that any time sedation is administered, it takes a lot longer, like a week for it to get out of their system. So he is opening his eyes in response, he is not tracking yet. Hope to hear from the surgeon or Dr. Lee. This is all progressing news because they are testing him and looking forward to recovery!

Our angel Deb switched her schedule around because she knew she wouldn't be able to work with him yesterday, so she will be with him today! She tries to facetime me while she is in there and she prays over him too. <3  There was also another hospital angel who stopped at his door to pray over him. We are so overwhelmed by the hands and feet in and out of the hospital. Praying that he is able to be moved down to the progressive care unit so she can be his nurse!! For that to happen, he has to be totally off the ventilator, so BIG prayers there for the next week of weaning!

Adam's mom is with him today and Riley is in Baltimore with a friend whose husband also had Traumatic Brain Injury.  He told his wife to book a hotel room and spend time with Riley supporting her and talking through TBI. Angels Everywhere!!! Adam's foot is getting more and more feeling and movement! It seems that he is very clear earlier in the day and as the day progresses, he has more bouts of confusion. It has only been a week and he has already recovered so much. We are all thankful. Please continue to keep his family in your prayers too. <3

If you could continue to lift up ICU friend Ray who is still at FFX. Please pray that Ray's blood pressure will remain stable without the IV heart medicine. He had a stroke so pray for healing in his brain. And the intubation affected his ability to speak and to swallow, but he's making progress. Praising god for Ray's life and for Judy's faith in Jesus and love for her sweet husband. Continued prayers for the family of Thomas, who is right next door to Steve, for healing and protection from all fear.

I woke up thinking about what someone had said to me. They said  that they wished it were all over. I pondered that even in my sleep, waking with it. Yes, I wish it were over, that I had Steve, husband, father, son, brother, friend etc fully back with us now and the nightmare done. BUT, I see God's hand moving in so many ways. I see a community tightening and holding one another up, I see miracles and God winks myself and reported back to us, I see mission fields widened and new connections made in Christ. I see brothers and sisters who just met, taking time to pray, talk, connect. Yes, this is all so very excruciating and hard. In our lives we are In the Storm, just coming Out of the Storm, or on the verge of going into another Storm. Some call it the Life, death and resurrection cycles of our lives. I don't know about you, but I get very complacent after a storm and all is well. I rely on myself, I get spiritually lazy. I repent, and I try, but we all know that anything done in our own strength is filthy rags. Even though this is horrific for us in the wait of this storm, I choose to Praise Him, press in, turn towards, and, run to the lap of my Abba Father, who holds me and fills me. God doesn't cause this pain, but he uses the ashes of our earthly trials and pain for beauty IF we turn to Him. The world is not our home, there is so much hurt, pain and evil. I choose to look for His hand in the storms of our lives. I choose to rest in His ways and not wish things away.

Hebrews 12:1-3 is the Race of faith: 1Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight(trials, storms, difficulties of life no matter what kind), and the sin which so easily ensnares us(worry, fear, control), and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, 2looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. (I added the parenthesis)

Press in friends, so many beautiful blessings when we press into Him. Love you all!

Prayer points: Wake up Steve! Wake up Kidneys! Wake up Airway!   Wake up Adam! Brain Clarity Adam! Wake up Right Leg!  There is a lot of sleeping going on! Let's wake up!

Love you all, have a blessed Saturday and Memorial Day Weekend, we keep in prayer all those who made the ultimate sacrifice and their families, may they be held and blessed.
