May 25, 2021 Tuesday update

I was able to go IN the hospital and meet with Dr. Lee today. We went over how Steve is doing and they were very happy to report that they were able to get another 2 liters off during dialysis today! He is scheduled again tomorrow, but they look at the labs before making decisions. Eventually, they will go to every other day and watch how his kidneys do, but this is a huge stress relief for them.  Unfortunately, this really wears him out, so the last 2 times I saw him, he was so out. Today, he did open his eyes once and lifted his eyebrows. He is scheduled for Trach and peg(feeding tube) for sometime this week. Then they can start work trying to wean him off reliance on the ventilator, which takes time since he has been on it for a while. He has his Christian tunes playing for him in the background and I played more voicemails for him. <3  

Adam had successful wrist surgery, but is in need of more prayer. His memory isn't back, especially short term, but forgot he had a dog till he was reminded and other memory things. He will be going for an MRI tonight to recheck his spine, brain and his right leg. His mom was with him today and Riley will be able to be with him from 8am-8pm! What a blessing! More blessings from a friend of Adam's who is driving Riley to Baltimore and her sweet friend Sonja who will pick her up. 

This morning, I felt directed by several people who shared verses from Habakuk. I had to dig around to see what The Lord had for me today. I started reading and it was about Habakuk complaining to The Lord! 

Habakkuk’s Complaint

2How long, Lord, must I call for help,

but you do not listen?

Or cry out to you, “Violence!”

but you do not save?

3Why do you make me look at injustice?

Why do you tolerate wrongdoing?

Destruction and violence are before me;

there is strife, and conflict abounds.

The Lord’s Answer

5“Look at the nations and watch—

and be utterly amazed.

For I am going to do something in your days

that you would not believe,

even if you were told.

 

Take EVERYTHING to The Lord. Hurts, questions, complaints, gripes, rants, praises. He hears us and He walks with us. No matter what happens on this journey, I am already utterly amazed at what God has been doing! I am humbled to be able to witness His hand and his blessing upon us and many others. He is so good, take it to him, He loves you and wants to chat! Don't worry, he can take tantrums and ranting! I know, because sometimes I do! Then the peace comes, because I have left the burdens with Him to work out. 

 

Please continue in prayer for the 12 beds, so many ages there, so many broken hearted. Continue to pray for this amazing staff on ICU. What a blessing they are, they need encouragement and sustenance only God can give.
