WOW, What a day of God Winks!
I had more calls with the case worker, that experience is the sipping from the firehose fun. I had no peace, couldn't breath, so scared and in a panic. It did push me to call the nurse to assert myself and ask to see Steve before the procedure tomorrow. They called back and the person in charge gave me 5 min. I was out the door! I had my God time in the car, praying and settling my spirit, focusing on Him again in the quiet.
I checked in at the door and it is always a difficulty because Steve is listed as NO Visitors. Dr. Lee called me right then to give me an update and was very excited to hear that I would be up in just a minute. When I arrived, I had a seat in the waiting room. there was a younger woman in there and I started talking to her. Her dad was in the ICU and she had a lot of difficulty getting to the hospital and was so scared being alone. I asked her if we could pray together. Just then Jenise(the amazing and wonderful secretary and the Peace of The Lord goes before her voice) showed up to bring me back. I asked if I could just have a moment to pray and she said that she was going to jump in and pray too, she told the woman that she was never alone. We prayed and hugged her and each other. As we walked back, we talked about the mission fields that God puts us in and allows us to see His hand. What a blessing. AND the entire staff was so thankful for the angel who sent them hand made, individually wrapped chocolates from Illinois!!! They LOVED them and kept telling me what an encouragement and how much they needed them today. I can't even imagine how difficult their job is, please continue to lift them up in prayer!
I got to Steve's room and opened the door a crack and he opened his eyes in response!!! His beautiful brown eyes and long lashes opened for me. I prayed over him and talked about everything that was going on with Adam and Riley, and Kaiti's prom tomorrow. Then Dr. Lee came and she is so precious, she wiped all my fears away. She said, like a momma, "Steve will have his procedure and come back to me". I felt so much peace, she addressed what the case worker said and gave me peace about it. I asked Michelle if I had to go and she gave me another 10 minutes! I opened the door again and greeted Steve and he opened his eyes again! <3 I continued chatting, and his therapist came over(she happens to be the bestest ever and a good friend of mine) and she told me about therapy today and swears that when she asked Steve to blink, he did on command! I had two minutes left, so i opened the door again to pray over Steve and remind him of what was going to happen tomorrow, and he opened his eyes for me again! So many happy tears and thankfulness for these amazing God winks today right when I felt like I might drown! We are so very held by our Abba Father.
Steve's mom Barbara had an experience today, she turned on the news, which she never does when she goes into the kitchen and they were reporting about a 59 yr old man who had been in a coma with covid for months and was now walking, talking, working, and living life to the full!!! It was the God wink, the picture that she needed to have of her son prevailing and the Lord healing him in the unseen and the promise of days to come. What a huge blessing for me to hear that story too!
I've been thinking all day about Elijah, angels who stopped by with dinner tonight shared with me how long and difficult trek it is up and down Mount Carmel, and it helped me to understand that his servant didn't just walk a few feet to look over the ocean for signs of rain, it was a Trek! Elijah didn't lose faith with the reports of nothing, but in faith, kept believing. Hebrews 11:1 says "1Now faith is the assurance (confirmation) of things hoped for (divinely guaranteed), and the evidence of things not seen [the conviction of their reality—faith comprehends as fact what cannot be experienced by the physical senses]. He kept walking in faith. I don't know what the trek may look like for us, but by faith, we hope and we walk forward knowing The Lord has each of us and loves us so very deeply. I also remembered that God gave Elijah supernatural strength to run AHEAD of the chariots, that means faster! It was God's strength, not Elijah's, he couldn't do it in his own strength, and neither can I. This is God, super-empowering me and all of us in the journey. Everything good you see coming out is God and to God be the Glory! Love you all, thank you for your prayers and continual support in so many ways.

And the God of peace will be with you.” Philippians 4:4-9 NIV I pray that tomorrow during the surgery, you are claiming victory through God‘s promises to be there with you and with Steve. Remember that when 2 or more of us are coming together in prayer, surely God is there also. Please know that we are all praying for you guys, and what you should do during that time is celebrating the miracles that God is working and will continue to work. Rejoice, just like the verse above states and keep rejoicing. Praise his name loudly, and know that you are not alone. I love you and Steve, and pray for healing and restoration.5/27/21
